Once again, top prize goes to the Cadillac Escalade. Unfortunately, this is the blue ribbon for the most stolen car from 2008-2010, according to the Highway Loss Data Institute.
The Escalade has been the the reigning champ holding this inglorious title since 2002. There are 10.8 thefts per 1000 escalade each year, as opposed to .5 thefts per 1000 for the Audi A^ 4-wheel-drive.

The top 5 most stolen are:

1. Cadillac Escalade
2. Ford F-250 crew4 wheel drive
3. Chevy Silverado 1500 crew
4. Ford F-450 crew 4 wheel drive
5. GMC Sierra 1500 crew

On the other side of the spectrum, the least stolen are:

1. Audi A6 4 wheel drive
2. Mercury Mariner
3. Chevy Equinox
4. Volkswagen CC
5. Chevy Equinox 4 wheel drive

This list is more than just a curiosity. If you are thinking of buying a new car, check the crime stats and see how much it will cost you to insure it. The theft insurance on the top 5 is much higher than that for the bottom.
