When to buy a life insurance policy is completely an individual decision—there is no definite age at which you should buy a policy. If you buy a life insurance policy while younger and healthy, you may be able to get a lower rate; however, if you choose to buy a policy while younger your premium cost may increase. If you are at high risk for illness or disease at a young age, it may be beneficial for you to purchase a policy while younger. Many people put off purchasing a life insurance policy until later in life; however, once people decide to get married and/or have a family they usually decide to compare life insurance quotes, research the policies and purchase a life insurance policy. At this point, when you have dependents that would suffer greatly should your death occur, especially unexpectedly, it is a smart decision to have a life insurance policy in place.
